in the normal html page I would do it like this:

this ain't work on flex
Is this really so hard do like this. I Cannot find solution from nowhere.

Outer area(white) is html page, solid green area is something what I dont know??. Green gradient area is Application area. This is so wierd!
I found that your solution works with Firefox but not with IE 8.0.(was that even suprise). Alltough, it needs to work with all browsers. That was good advice, but not the solution.
Actually your solution works. This worked on my work laptop correctly.
