I'm sure there is a simple way to do this, I just can't seem to think how.
I am looking to create a lipped edge on an ellipse, but I can't get it smooth and I haven't used the path tools before.
Could someone please take a look at the attached GIF and let me know how I can get it smooth?
The GIF just shows the bottom left corner of the ellipse, as I am only creating the bottom half, to mimic the image at the top of this page:
I don't need it exact, I just like the look of it.
Right now I have a rectangle with full corner rounding. I then converted it to a path and moved the lower points in to give a smoother slope, but didn't add any extra points ( which is what I think I need to do ).
I then have an inset emboss, a drop shadow and an inner shadow.
Any help to smooth that path would be greatly appreciated. Like I said, I haven't used the path tools in Fireworks yet so thought I'd get some pointers while I experiment.
Can you post your Fireworks document?
Thanks Pixlor, I have it covered now. I created 2 small ellipses with a nice curvature and unioned then with the rectangle to create something much better.
