Do the stubborn clips have AC3 audio?
take a look in the folder and try to play the files with QT or something else to verify that these files do in fact have audio. If they do, you might try to clear out your CS3 prefs or dig a bit deeper on what's different about the EX3 clips that don't import from the ones that do.
I tried going in to the BPAV folder- opening the CLPR folder then trying to view one of the mpeg 4 quicktimes.
I get an error message - Error 2010- the movie contains some invalid data.
BUT these are on the files that imported fine into ppro cs3.
I don't know if the audio files are AC3.
I went to the clips in the timeline that worked and hit properties and it said they were LCPM16?
BUT again, some of the BPAV folders were fine.
This is my first time trying to import these files.
I thought it would work straight away!!

So would I and be assured, the audio is PCM, not AC3. The only sensible reason is that the files were recorded with the mic off, hence no sound.
I don't think think mic was off.
These were pretty pro people I hired for a job (BBC freelance) sound and camera guy.
Just seems to be a glitch.
Thing I don't understand is that two of the folders work fine. Three don't.
I will check with the other backed up folders on another drive a see if same problem.
