Oh, and just a bit more info, whenever I do get on a roll and try a compile, I get a memory error and it seems to corrupt my progress and create a mess.
Mybe it's your machine or the install that's faulty?
FlexBuilder uses a lot of memory so you may need to allocate more to Eclipse (you can find how on the web--I believe you need to edit eclipse.ini).
As far as your other complaints, you don't really give enough detail for us to give you constructive feedback, but, for what it's worth, my FlexBuillder experience has been fairly painless (and I've been using the Linux _alpha_ version).
You may be starting with too big a project for your first try. You're using cairgorm and that certainly complicates things.
You might want to start out simple and move up from there. You might then better understand what's going wrong.
