I believe you have to run it a a 32 bit application or it is no dice how you do that I do not know but I believe there is a way to install and run as a 32 bit only application. but it cannot be run asa 64 bit since it is not.
I am wrong about this it is not certified for XP 64 but it seems others do use it
What exactly did you do? What machine is it? While XP64 is not officially supported, CS4 should run just fine on it. It does on my machine here at work...
The Machine is a Dell Precision M6400
Professional x64 Edition
Serv Pack 2
The computer is a:
Intel Core 2 Extreme
CPU Q9300 @ 2.53 GHz
2.53 GHz, 7.98 GB of RAM
When I first received the computer, I installed SolidWorks 2009, Photoshop. Everything worked fine. I then installed Illustrator, and the machine crashed. I had to have the IT Dep. re-image the system. I searched and could not find a 64bit version of Illustrator, so I did not install it. Than BAD part is that we paid for the license, and cannot use it.

P Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run a TV for three hours.
I think it should work since you installed a new system.
