Mylenium Jan 16, 2010 3:05 AM (in response to frogstyling)1. The tool assumes sRGB and cannot deal with the slightly extended AdobeRGB space, which, given that it is meant as a simple system helper makes sense.
2. The tool also cannot deal with monitor profiles, that may further skew the color as you seem to see it.
AI's internal logic is not affected by either of these and will handle things correctly, it's merely a workflow problem with the specific tool.

Mylenium Jan 17, 2010 1:30 AM (in response to Wade_Zimmerman)From what I gather, he's talking about a custom color picker tool outside of AI and on Windows, for that matter. Hence my original conclusion about lack of profiling adjustments inside the tool.

Skullmaker Mar 12, 2010 12:09 PM (in response to frogstyling)Frogstyling,
This is yet another bug of CS4. Nothing wrong with your settings. The only thing wrong is Adobe that does care to fix anything, but always happy to sell you the next version with new and old bugs (that Adobe will refuse to fix):

All these users have a problem with CS4 colors. If you read the linked posts, none of them got a good answer.
Where is the CS4 update?
Adobe does not provide updates to fix its faulty software. Be sure to pre-order CS5!
