1. Re: Why does my newly created template (DW CS4) lose all links?
David_Powers Jan 20, 2010 1:43 AM (in response to G Pella)It sounds as though your site definition might not be correctly set up. There's a bug on the most recent versions of Windows that prevents the Site Definition dialog box from selecting the correct folder for the site root automatically. See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/478327.

2. Re: Why does my newly created template (DW CS4) lose all links?
G Pella Jan 20, 2010 3:13 PM (in response to David_Powers)Dear David,
Thank you for your reply, it sounds good in theory, but I am operating from an Intel based Macbook (and I tested Dreamweaver with this problem on both my MacBook Pro and my MacBook (10.5.8); nevertheless I have done as suggested and very carefully set up the site definition making sure the path is correct as well as folder name, – it is set to be Document relative, but the problem still occurs. All other situations of working with links work fine, only the created .dwt files in the Template folders are no longer linked, and the usual 'update' Dialogue box does not happen. I have reinstalled it twice and tried it with a different website set-up and it keeps happening. Regards G Pella
P.S.But If I move any page from my root folder into another folder in the site (doing so within Dreamweaver's my files panel) it also does not update the links, and loses all styling and placed images.
