1. Re: How do I turn "option drag a copy" back on
Scott Falkner Jan 19, 2010 8:19 PM (in response to mildog78)It can’t be turned off. Something else must be interfering with Illustrator, the keyboard, or the communication between the two.
ALWAYS provide version numbers and OS. We cannot help you if you don’t tell us what you are using.

Wade_Zimmerman Jan 19, 2010 9:39 PM (in response to Scott Falkner)Unless you have invoked some system use of the option key that is not invalidated for Illustrator.
What that might be I cannot imagine since the option/alt key is used by so many applications for similar function.

Thank you for your response. It helped me narrow things down by looking outside Illustrator. The option key was working in the finder and last night I had restarted Illustrator and the computer. What fixed it this morning was a complete Log Out of the mac. Go figure. It was late last night and I panicked. Sorry for the trouble.
Also, I updated my profile with my stats. Thanks for pointing that out.

Nobody’s going to check your stats before responding to a question, and nobody’s going to remember you next time you have a question. Post OS and versions EACH TIME you have a question. I encourage people to put at least the version in the post title, e.g.: “CS3: Option drag to copy not working”. This particular post has the benefit of identifying the general OS (Macintosh), although the specific version should be part of the post somewhere.

Will do. I'm used to other forums where your stats are automatically
listed in your post. But thanks for the reminder.
