    selecting a camera

    Mainmanian

      I use flex's Camera.getCamera() method to identify the camera that I want to use in my app. But, that does not really enable access to the camera's video. Is there a way to programatically change the Flash player active camera (the one that comes up in the dialog box which asks us to 'allow' the use of camera). It would make my app a bit easier to work with... Any thoughts from others who have coem up on this issue? Thanks, Ramesh

          I think that you are asking how to override the default camera set in the Flash Player prefrences? If so...

          camera = Camera.getCamera(); // returns default camera
          var cameraIndex:int = 0;
          camera = Camera.getCamera(cameraIndex.toString()); // returns the very first camera
          cameraIndex = 3;
          camera = Camera.getCamera(cameraIndex.toString()); // returns the very fourth camera
