1. set the workbar over the clip if it is in a sequence with other clips. Tell the encoder just to encode the workbar area.
2. rightclick on the clip and nest, then export, this sounds like the quickest way.
I want to easily 'copy' just a 10 second segment of a longer clip to a separate
clip. If I set an "in" and 'Out' can I do something from there? Thanks
Mark the area and export it as an uncompressed file gives you a unique file of just that section off source clip.
Your second question: Put the source clip in the Source Monitor...mark the ins and outs and insert/overlay it to a new sequence. ( Basic editing technique)
Note : you can use a source clip or parts of it as many times as you wish . (NLE is non destructive.)
