Blank pages in Acrobat 8, crashes on open

      Running OS X 10.5.8 Acrobat 8.1.7

All working fine, then changed view preference from 2up to "Automatic".

This is the only change I made, and yes show large images is on.

Next PDF I opened is blank.

A number other PDFs that previously worked all make Acrobat quit.

A few PDFs I tried look OK, these were one page only.

Some PDFs look for a few pages then suddenly go blank, scrolling back the previously OK pages are also blank.

Many display "draw error" after scrolling a couple of pages.

Most of these PDFs are created from InDesign, Illustrator or FreeHand. No pattern to what ones still work.

The same PDFs look fine in the Admin account on same workstation.

All these PDFs look fine in Preview under same account and fine on other Macs in the office.

They all open intact into Illustrator.

What I have done so far is...

Reset the preference to what it was previously. No luck.

      Trashed preferences. No luck.

Run diagnostics on the disc. No luck.

Updated to 8.2.0, no fix either.

Tried with very simple PDF from Illustrator, with few vectors, no images, some outlined text. No luck either.

I've been trawling the forums and found 3 other posts very similar to my problem.

None of these seem to be answered, and they uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat with no fix.

Needless to say I'm not keen to do that myself if it's not going to fix it.
