    Newbie help with Symbols (button)

    jks3421
I am trying to learn how to use Fireworks. I have determined that I should use symbols to create a button and then drop multiple instances of the symbol on my canvas. I then attempt to modify the text on the button...IE: About Us, Products, Inventory, etc...but when I modify one of the buttons, it updates all instances of the button on my canvas. Once I change the text on one button, how do I update/add different text to a different button?

      Thanks

Use the text box in the Property Inspector.

Open the Window > Symbol Properites Panel
Select your Symbol Instance on the Canvas, then in the Symbol Properties Panel change the Label property.

Then repeat for the other button instances.
