Adobe Reader 9.3 will not open PDF files on Windows 7 laptop

      I have a new laptop with Windows 7 & Windows Explorer 8 (64 bit).
I can't open pdf files. It seems to open up a temp file & then disappears & the file doesn't open. An error received was "Acrobat failed to connect DDE server".
So I uninstalled Adobe Reader 9.3 & reinstalled.  Problem still exists.
Thinking maybe Explorer 8 was the problem, I installed Firefox & tried again. Problem still exists.

      I encounter the problem in IE8 32-bit as well as IE8 64-bit.

      The executable for IE8 32-bit is located here:      C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

      The executable for IE8 64-bit is located here:      C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

I tried saving a file & opening it in Adobe Reader v9.3 ==> the file was saved, but it wouldn't open.

Robear Dyer (PA Bear) recommended this & it WORKED!!

Or uninstall Adobe Reader, install Foxit Reader (free) & see if the behavior persists

I wanted to let everyone know THAT FOXIT READER WORKED!
