1. Re: Copy and Paste not working correctly in coding views.
{sitewide} Jan 26, 2010 9:35 PM (in response to Dave.Cox)I have never had the issue nor heard of it. Only thing I can say is to check your preferences in DW as in the attached image.
In a side note and this may help or not but it is a cool little program that I use daily. http://ditto-cp.sourceforge.net/
Very handy tool when you are doing alot of copy/paste work. Also save snippets in groups for future work. Check it out and get to know all that it can do...powerful little bugger.

370H55V Jan 26, 2010 10:14 PM (in response to {sitewide})Are you copying in the design view or copying code?
I have sporadic problems copying and pasting in the design window. Sometimes I can copy a section of one page to another, sometimes I can't. As a rule since CS3, I try to stick strictly to copying code only since it always seems to work. If I happen to get lucky and it's working, I'll try copying and pasting in design.

{sitewide} Jan 27, 2010 5:53 AM (in response to 370H55V)are you asking me CowboyInAZ ? if so...no I never copy from design view as I never use it, but that is a interesting issue you both have. I will do a little PI work to see if I can dig up a cause.

{sitewide} Jan 27, 2010 9:12 AM (in response to {sitewide})ok...did a little googling and I can see others are having issue you are. All I could find out was that it might be a bug, but I don't have this issue. Also...trying switching to classic view. I read that it helps with the issue. Good luck
(Window > Workspace Layout > Classic)

Dave.Cox Jan 27, 2010 5:18 PM (in response to Dave.Cox)Thank you for your replies.
Sitewide, I have checked all of the preferences that I can find, and can not find any related to this issue. Thanks for the reference to Ditto, I will give it a try. I have my view set in 'Designer' view, but I will try 'Classic' view as you suggest.
Cowboy, I am attempting to copy and paste in the code window, not design view.
An additional thing that I have noticed is this When I click on a section of code, Dreamweaver is selecting the entire section of code, rather than what I was attempting to select. For example, if I click on anything in the body section of the code, I will get the entire body section selected. If I click on a script section, the entire script section will be selected.
I did find a work around since my last post, but it is a bit kludgey. If I switch to design mode, and then back to code mode, every thing will be ok for awhile.
Dave.

6. Re: Copy and Paste not working correctly in coding views.
smargovsky May 25, 2010 1:22 PM (in response to Dave.Cox)Greetings all,
I just recently started having this problem on Windows 7. After switching to the Classic layout, I noticed that all of my copy and paste commands (keyboard shortcuts and through the menus) seem to have been taking place in the Files window (a selected file was copied and pasted) instead of in the coding window (where I was actually selecting text to copy and paste). Switching to Classic Window Layout is the only way I was able to discover this, and it seems to have fixed this problem (at least for now). I hope this helps someone, anyone.

lridenour69 Jun 11, 2010 10:49 AM (in response to smargovsky)This bug has been around for over a year. I can't believe they haven't fixed it yet and i have never seen a wrokaround that actually works. I'm going to submit a report,
but i think the best plan is to find another software package where the we either NOT pay $1000s of dollars for Zero support or
at least the community that supports it (open source) will actually respond and address an issue this important.
