You apparently haven't got the codec installed on the other computer.
Have you got Windows Media Player 11?
I does (PC 1) have WMP 11 v.11.0.6001.7008. When I check for updates it said I had the latest version and no updates were available. The computer (PC 2) the vidoe works on has WMP 11 v.11.0.6002.18111. I am currently downloading and installing any Windows updates on PC 1 and will see if that fixes the problem. Thanks for the response.
It SHOULD work. As I say, DV-AVIs are relatively standard.
But, if not, why not export as a WMV file?
I do not know about Win7, but many flavors of Vista left out the normal CODEC's, that were always part of the OS install. MS did have a Vista CODEC "pack" to replace these missing CODEC's. That might be your "fix." Now, with the exception of the MS CODEC "pack," I am not a big fan of general CODEC packs, and do not install any of those. Instead, I will go to the source, and buy, if necessary, any CODEC's that I need, when I need them.
