fast seek support for http/progressive delivery

Is there any chance that fast seek support can be included in osmf for "internet-enabled" .mp4 files delivered via http?

I understand that http streaming support is coming with Flash Player 10.1 -- but both the iPhone native video player and Quicktime Player on the Mac (snow leopard) support fast seek on standard .mp4 files delivered via http -- presumably by issuing HTTP GET range requests after loading the keyframe metadata in the file header. It even works with files served from S3!

Even better if this can be made to work on pre-10.1 players!

I understand there are "pseudo-streaming" plugins available for various web servers -- but these don't work on S3 and other web servers for which you can't reasonably install a plugin.

      Thanks!
