    Transitions duration

      Hi all,
      Just a quick question, on my site I'm creating I have the base state as corporate background but all the layout components set to visible=false with an event to automatically change to the second state with a transition effect which has these components visible=true.
      quote:

      <mx:states>
      <mx:State name="startingPage">
      <mx:SetProperty target="{titlewindow1}" name="visible" value="true"/>
      <mx:SetProperty target="{panel1}" name="visible" value="true"/>
      <mx:SetProperty target="{panel2}" name="visible" value="true"/>
      <mx:SetEventHandler target="{mainContainer}" name="initialize"/>
      </mx:State>
      </mx:states>
      <mx:transitions>
      <mx:Transition fromState="*" toState="startingPage">
      <mx:Fade alphaFrom="0" duration="5000"/>
      </mx:Transition>
      </mx:transitions>
      <mx:Canvas x="0" y="0" width="100%" height="100%" id="mainContainer" initialize="this.currentState='startingPage'">
      <blah blah blah, contains all the layout ect/>
      </mx:Canvas>

      my issue is that it goes straight to the second state seemingly without the transition, was wondering if anyone could see the error in my code causing this..

      Cheers

          No worries, (not that anyone replied)
          the answer was a workaround, I set the effect to run at startup, (initial issue with this was that the text displayed during transition) with text disabled, and enabled on the second state, i then added effectEnd="this.currentState='startingPage'" to change to the second state on completion of the effect.
