VERRRYYY easy way to learn ( i taught myself) is to search youtube to begin with (i like this guy: www.tutvid.com), then come to these forums when you need technical things answered.
I for my part, I have found among other things, a lot of help from these links

A good place to look is the Getting Started section the Adobe Dreamweaver Developer Center: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/?view=gettingstarted. Follow the six-part tutorial on building your first website in Dreamweaver CS4. It's very clearly written, and covers a lot of ground.
and not to forget (translated from German-DW to English) look at your Dream-Weaver "templates":
"File new" ---> Slide from Example -> Start site "theme" -> create. Then again and again switch back and forth between code view and Design view.
Actually, those are not templates, but sample files. I realize you're translating from German, but the New Document dialog box has both "Page from Template" and "Page from Sample". The difference is that "Page from Template" lists templates that you have made yourself, "Page from Sample" are sample files that are included with Dreamweaver.
Having said all that, "Page from Sample" is of no use to William. All the old sample pages were removed from Dreamweaver CS4 because the code they used was very outdated and no longer represented best practice in web development.
But thanks for that, that probably means, I have to switch to my (not yet so beloved) CS4, which you can find already since a long time on my computer!
