Are you using a sample app? Loading a plugin? Loading a SWF?
This is usually caused by a mismatch of flash player / swc. You need flash player 10 and make sure your publish settings in flash / flex are set to player 10. Right click on your player, goto the About..., and verify it is version 10 or higher.
I'm trying to use MediaPlayerWrapper with a VideoElement accessing a a local .flv in AIR...
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
private var file:File = File.applicationStorageDirectory.resolvePath("video.flv");
private function init(e:Event):void
var ve:VideoElement=VideoElement(new URLResource(new URL(file.nativePath)));
I get the error on the creation of the VideoElement. I'm using Flex 3.5 SDK with AIR 1.5.3 SDK overlayed. I also got the Example Player to compile using my local setttings.
Looks like you're missing a "new":
var ve:VideoElement = new VideoElement(new URLResource(new URL(file.nativePath)));
sorry... just a typo... still getting the same error...

When I add the "new" back in and copy a video.flv file to the app storage directory, everything works fine for me (although I'm on an earlier Flex SDK). I suspect the problem is related to how you overlaid the AIR SDK on top of the Flex SDK (as that's the most likely culprit for a VerifyError, as Ryan suggests).
You're correct... it was a myriad of configuration issues... thank you for your help...
