    [AS] Command behind "command+shift+i"

does anyone know if there's a way to call the command behind the shortcut "Command+Shift+i" in order to add (or remove) italic to font style of an active selection without knowing the name of the applied font or even the current value of the font style (Regular, Bold, Semibold…)?

I search all docs I've found without any results…

So, at this time, my scripts must test values of font style before changing anything… it works but I want to write scripts which can manage all fonts, not only the ones I know…

I hope it is clear enough to be understood (I'm french…)
