Hi. I sketch in Illustrator and use a lot of brushes. Whenever I'm using the pencil or pen tool and I click to end the line, my brush automatically goes back to the default straight line. I used to be able to select a brush (ex. the waterbrush stroke) and sketch an entire picture using this brush until I select a new brush. Someone told me I can change the settings, but I don't see anything in there to set the brush to use the current brush. Please help. Believe it or not, a lot of time is wasted, because I have to select my brush each time, plus the size of the brush.
If you connect your brush-stroked line to a basic non-brushed line, it
will change to the non-brushed line appearance. Maybe set up a graphic
style so it will be easier to switch back to the desired look.
From the Appearance Panel flyout menu uncheck new art has basic appearance.
Now everytime you select a brush for the paint or pencil too the next line will be the same as the previously selected brsh.
Thank you both!
Wade, that's exactly what I was looking for. I had it set up in the old Illustrator to always use the previous brush and I couldn't remember how I did it. I was looking everywhere for that option.
