You are blending from CMYK purple to process black. Say your purple is 80,100,0,0. This means that halfway through the blend your colour will be 40,50,0,50. As you get closer to black you will get less colour as you go.
Instead, use a process black that’s a copy of your purple, plus 100% black.
Bottom Right color mix should not have the Black component, right?

This happens when you blend a flat black (100%K) into another color. Try
blending a rich black (try C60, M50, Y30, K95 for example). The transition
will be a smoother, richer color.
