You should be able to open the template file and fix anything you want. When you save it, you'll get a box that asks if you want to apply the changes to all pages using that template. I often make my template, make pages using the template, and then go back to the template and link the menu bar to the new pages. Then I save and it updates on all pages. No need to start over. Hope this helps!
Morning, For some reason it will not let me edit the menu bar?
Can you think of how to get the edit function back up for the index template?
What kind of menu bar is it? Is it Spry, text, or graphics based?
Thanks for your help
You should be able to scroll over the menu and get a tab above it that says
Spry Menu Bar: Menu 1 or something like that. Does it let you click the
tab? The properties will then show up at the bottom. Let me know if it
will let you do that.
When I put my Cursor over the Menu...it does show a light blue tab that says . But it shows a circle with a line thru it and when I Click it nothing happens.????
It's hard to say without seeing it. Can you attach the file?
Here you go Thanks...
Hopefully that works
There's nothing attached. I don't think it will work over email. I think you have to go to the thread and attach there.
I posted it!
Thanks for all your help, this has been very time consuming!
I hate to say this, but I have no idea why it is not letting you edit
that... I got the same thing. If it were me, I'd probably copy and paste
everything into a clean file and remake the menu bar... it could be a
problem with the file, and I've had to do that in DW before.
What is the best way to copy and paste? when i do it...none of the colors go with it?
Well there's defintily something wrong with this template, it behaves like a nested tempate in some cases:
<!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="head" -->
<!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="head" -->
<!-- TemplateEndEditable -->
<!-- InstanceEndEditable -->
And instead of <!--TemplateBeginEditable --> it uses Instance begin editable.
So this template is for some reasons saved as a page created from a template.
I think that if you use this file as a template change "InstanceBeginEditable" to "TemplateBeginEditable" and do the same for "InstanceEndEditable".
Remove redundant declaration, then this template should be fully editable
How would you go about changing this file name?
Well if you have changed the code its a fully functional template.
lol.....I am sorry...
How do you change the code?
I was clicking on the title at the bottom...do I need to go in to code? and just switch it
You should have 3 buttons at the top of the design area: Code, Split, and
Design. The code button shows only the code, and you can edit it right
there. The Design view is probably where you currently are looking.
"Split" shows both.
I am in there...and that won't let me edit ethier! (it's all grey)
