    Flex Builder 3 ignoring Application Descriptor settings for AIR

    Fredstarr

      Hello - I have built an application in Flex Builder 3 which I am deploying as AIR 1.5. I've modified the auto-generated application descriptor to strip the system chrome, set the window to transparent, and prevent resizing.

      However, when I either preview or launch the release build, none of these settings are being applied. Does anyone know why this would be?

          Hi there

          You can configure the yourapplication-app.xml like this:

          <initialWindow>
                   ....
               <systemChrome>none</systemChrome>
               <transparent>true</transparent>
               <visible>true</visible>
                    ....
          </initialWindow>

          And in your Application:

          <mx:Application
               xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
               width="500" height="250"
               layout="absolute">

               <mx:Style>
                  Application
                  {
                      background-color:"";
                      background-image:"";
                      padding: 0px;
                  }
               </mx:Style>

          </mx:Application>

          And the transparent will be work

          Regards

            But it sounds like none of those things are working at all, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense.  He even said he disabled resizing, but (and I'm assuming he verified it didn't work) the setting didn't take effect.

            I can't imagine why it wouldn't work, unless.... did you forget to uncomment the settings in the xml?  In xml <!-- --> is the same as /* */ comments in AS.
