I have a button that's simply an icon hovering in the middle of a transparent square. Is there a way for the whole square to be clickable? Right now I can only get the click to register on the icon.
There are two things you can do:
set the "transparency accepts mouse" property on the button instance (in the properties panel). This makes it so that everything within the button's bounding box fires mouse events.
add a rectangle inside the button that covers what you want to be the hit area. Set it's alpha to 0. Make sure it exists in all states. Mouse events fire on 0-alpha objects (but not invisible objects!).
I'm sorry I haven't replied until now. I went with your second suggestion- 0-alpha'd rectangle. It worked great, thanks!
