    Probleme of wysiwyg

    fmoffet

      I have a problem with Dreanweaver CS3
      Since yesterday I have a lot of difficulties to edit my pages
      ex: if I put a red background, I would not see it in editing  but on the web yes!
      it's the the same thing for the texte, i don't see it if i change the size and font or the color
      everything I change, I do not see
      As long as it is not placed on the web

      All the pages on my folder are like that now
      I have reinstalled Dreamweaver and Resulat is the same
      Why it's now like that and what can i do

      Thanks for your answers

          Use the code validation tools below and fix any reported errors.

          HTML Validator - http://validator.w3.org

          CSS Validator - http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/

          If this does not cure the problem, post a URL to your test page so we can see your CSS and HTML code.

            HI Nancy O

            Thanks for your time

            My probleme it's not on the web but when i work  with my  dreamweaver pages

            Ex: If my Website  folder on my hard disk have 50 pages in Dreamweaver

            20 pages in Blue , 20 pages in Red and 10 pages in yellow (background)

            If i open all of them all my background are blank. (except on the website)

            even in my properties, i have nothing (text color, page font, background, link etc etc

            If i change a page : Put Green Background, change the size of the texte in 16, put a link in blue

            i will see nothing on my page until i place it on the web!  and if i open again this page

            for modification, everything is blank, No colors, only text in Black

            it's really weird!, do you have an idea what it could be and what can i do

            thanks again

              function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

                 do you have an idea what it could be and what can i do

              Not without a link so we can see the page and view the code.

                  I've got good news and bad news.  The good news is that your problem is not caused by DW.

                  The bad news is that your problem is caused by terrible CSS code that is infected with MS Office styles.

                  This is what happens when you copy & paste directly from MS Word and other Office apps.

                  mso-ansi-language:EN-US;
                       mso-fareast-language:EN-US;}
                  div.NormalParagraphStyle15 {mso-style-name:NormalParagraphStyle;
                       margin:0in;
                       margin-bottom:.0001pt;
                       line-height:120%;
                       mso-pagination:none;
                       mso-layout-grid-align:none;
                       text-autospace:none;
                       font-size:12.0pt;
                       font-family:Times-Roman;
                       color:black;
                       mso-ansi-language:EN-US;
                       mso-fareast-language:EN-US;}
                  li.NormalParagraphStyle15 {mso-style-name:NormalParagraphStyle;
                       margin:0in;
                       margin-bottom:.0001pt;
                       line-height:120%;
                       mso-pagination:none;
                       mso-layout-grid-align:none;
                       text-autospace:none;
                       font-size:12.0pt;
                       font-family:Times-Roman;
                       color:black;
                       mso-ansi-language:EN-US;
                       mso-fareast-language:EN-US;}
                  p.NormalParagraphStyle15 {mso-style-name:NormalParagraphStyle;

                  You should rebuild your CSS code, strip out the MSO styles.   In the future when you must copy & paste from MS Word, use DW Edit > Paste Special > Text Only or Text and structure only -- to strip out the junk styles.

                    Hee, hee, I took one look at that and backed away. nasty nasty.

                    I will add though that the code does render fine with background colours/text styles in DWCS4 design view, so maybe if the OP wants to continue down this route they should download the trial version and see if its worth the upgrade.
