Previously I had posted a thread about trying to format and xml file with line breaks and indents when writing XML files using the xml.sendAndLoad method. IOW, I was looking for a way to write the xml like this:
as opposed to this:
I thought I had solved this by converting the XML to a str in which the line breaks and indents were added in the appropriate places, but as yet I haven't been able to write it to an XML file. I can write a text file using LoadVars, but this isn't useful as the formatting isn't preserved.
Does anyone have an idea how I might write the xml.
Thanks in advance.
did you try enabling the prettyPrinting property of your xml?
Thanks for the response. I have not. Seems this is easier done in AS3 but am too far down AS2 path at this point. I located some code relative to pretty printing, but have yet to wrap my brain around it. If there are any resources you'd recommend, I would be grateful for the information.
