I'm using Dreamweaver CS4 on my iMac running OS X 10.6.2 to create my first web site.
I'd like to set a MINIMUM page width, but haven't worked out how to do it yet.
You can see the page that I'd like to set this minimum for here: <http://www.vegasfastads.com/features.html>. I'd like the table not to extend outside of the back 'box'. If the window is minimized 'too far' then I'd like the horizontal scroll bar toappear.
Just use the min-width attribute (http://www.w3schools.com/CSS/pr_dim_min-width.asp )on your div surrounding the table. So where you have align="center" just add style="min-width:###px" where the ### is equal to the minimum width you want.
Also this isn't part of your post but could affect your design later on:
Run your page through that validator. You have some mismatched tags in your code (ie: </p> without a <p> before it). That validator will typically pick up things that DW will miss. Definitely a good tool to have bookmarked.
Excellent! That is exactly what I was looking for. I don't know how I had missed that. That pretty much makes my page look exactly how I want it to look.
