I've done numerous HTML emails in Dreamweaver and hosted the linked files in a separate folder in my website no problem but I was curious about this.
When I roll over other company's mailings images I keep seeing these type of random folder names. e.g. RLwyGAAEzhrYMK4C or gvSLtC9fa7vWHA4kZDa9pDDgAYE6MDK7juaKdN1el2a. Is this something I should be doing or is it the server producing theses codes on the links?
I just wondered what's the process by which these get produced.
Totally guessing here, but I would assume those code strings are added by the email clients
as part of the internet email messaging protocols (packets etc.)
Yeah I thought that as well Ken, they seem so randomised that it must be protocols. Mine never do it though, just a link to my server and the folder where my files reside.
Not really worried about it apart from the fact it looked like a security thing to stop unlawful access.
