Oops, please forgive the typos.
The problem is that you have both Reader and Acrobat installed on the same machine.
Adobe support will only recommend and support one or the other. Ther recommended fix is to remove one and keep the other.
If you remove one, be prepared to reinstall the other as it may break.
Uninstall reader 8.2 and install reader 9.3. The reason you get cannot view in browser is the reader is getting confused with the two different
versions on your machine.
Not totally sure if reader version has to exactly match acrobat version.
I know from experience that if you have adobe reader 8 installed previously then you decide to install reader 9.3 without uninstalling 8 then you will get this cannot view in browser error. The reader 9 install program doesnt completely uninstall previous versions of reader. Its pretty stupid. Think it doesn't completely clean the registry.
so I uninstalled reader 9 and the reininstalled it and pdf displayed like it should.
