Some times when we deploy a new swf file and data xml files controlling the application they don't get effective till the time the client is requested to clear his local browser cache. Is there a way to enforce this cleaning of cache programmatically from within the application cause it causes a lot of hassle.
No, but in your html wrapper, you can implement cache-busting through appending a random variable (typically epoch ticks). Alternately, you could change your app to be a thin loader for your real app, implement a cache-busting version check against the server, and load the real app with the appropriate version appended to the query string. This has the advantage of maintaining the benefits of caching, but is significantly more complicated.
