3. Re: "Where is the File?" Window
Bill Hunt Feb 14, 2010 8:15 AM (in response to Alan Craven)I have encountered instances, where it did not work correctly in earlier versions too. I found that when this behavior surfaced (never found the faulting parameters), if I unchecked "Match" and then checked it again - all was good. Yeah, seems like unnecessary clicking, but that has always worked for me. Remember, my issues were in an earlier version, PrPro 2.0, but that uncheck/check worked 100% of the time. Might want to give that a try.
Good luck,
Hunt

Colin Brougham Feb 14, 2010 9:28 AM (in response to Alan Craven)I've found that the standard Windows "refresh" shortcut key--F5--makes the "find" dialog, well, refresh and the "match" function work.

Bill Hunt Feb 14, 2010 10:30 AM (in response to Colin Brougham)Colin,
Interesting. I'll give that a go, when things go wonky for me. One keystroke vs two clicks - hey, will save some time.
Thanks,
Hunt

Matt Petersen Feb 14, 2010 9:05 PM (in response to Alan Craven)For the record this bug (feature?) was evident through all iterations of CS3 also!

Alan Craven Feb 14, 2010 11:25 PM (in response to Matt Petersen)I skipped CS3, but it worked flawlessly for me for the year I used CS4.0 through 4.1 with XP. I made a change to W7 with the CS4.2.1 update, and it doesn't work at all.

8. Re: "Where is the File?" Window
Alan Craven Feb 15, 2010 5:17 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)Thank you for the suggestions, but I've tried both the "check/uncheck/check" and the "F5" method and neither work for me. The feature is broken, period.

9. Re: "Where is the File?" Window
Colin Brougham Feb 15, 2010 6:15 AM (in response to Alan Craven)Alan,
Yes, I just realized that the "matching" toggle is broken, regardless of which method you try to refresh the display--however, it seems to be a combination Windows 7/Premiere Pro issue instead of a Premiere Pro issue alone. I just upgraded my workstation from Vista 64 to W7 64 over the weekend, and when I tried both the F5 refresh and the check button toggle, neither worked; both practices worked fine in Vista. I don't know if there is anyway to make it functional in W7--I guess we just wait until CS5 for it to (hopefully) be fixed.
Apologies for the misdirection!

10. Re: "Where is the File?" Window
Alan Craven Feb 15, 2010 7:59 AM (in response to Colin Brougham)No worries! You just got me hoping for a while there.
I tend to have sets of clips named sequentially, so I have to be careful when this box comes up. I have had some odd results when I have clicked on the wrong file.
