1. Re: End action will not execute because of end action on the final chapter point
Stan Jones Feb 15, 2010 10:20 PM (in response to computerskillme)I have CS3 and have not looked at the link you provided.
When creating some chapter playlists, I found that it would sometimes at an end action to the final chapter. I do not know why. I think I deleted them, but, burn and test to see if it has any effect. sometimes you will get a warning that is not critical.

What timeline is referenced by the error - the main timeline or the opening credits timeline?

I looked at the final chapter and it says end action: not set, like I stated above. I have CS4.
So you have burned with that warning, and the DVD still functions? I tried this last night and I noticed that there's no sound in the final chapter.

The main time line.

7. Re: End action will not execute because of end action on the final chapter point
computerskillme Feb 16, 2010 8:54 AM (in response to computerskillme)I have a couple of other questions. If I make a change in the timeline in Premiere, will that new change be reflected in the timeline of Encore?
For example, I noticed no sound in the last chapter. I looked in in the timeline in Premiere, the last chapter had to sound after a certain point. I fixed that in Premiere.
When I re-load Encore, open this project, preview it, the entire last chapter does not have sound. Which was odd because before it was just halfway through the last chapter that there was no sound.
Is there a way to reload the project without having to redo all the menus and links?

Jeff Bellune Feb 16, 2010 11:46 AM (in response to computerskillme)Thanks for the screenshots; they help a lot. Your error message is just that an end action isn't set. Set it.

9. Re: End action will not execute because of end action on the final chapter point
computerskillme Feb 16, 2010 11:52 AM (in response to computerskillme)Okay, after being on the phone for two hours with Adobe (I so hope the first guy whom I spoke with gets fired as he had me delete everything and start over again! And he kept putting me on hold to look stuff up.) I found out that when the timeline gives that error message, click on that timeline and the end action should be STOP. STOP is the answer. I had to speak with the supervisor, and within 10 minutes (mostly complaining about the previous tech) the problem was solved. Phew.
So, again, if you get this error message, and it lists the timeline as the problem, make sure the end action is changed to STOP. It is NOT "not set".
Now I'm just fighting to have sound with the last 10 minutes. It's very odd since I've used that same clip elsewhere without any problems. Grrrr......... no wonder why so many editors turn to booze and drugs. (I'm just kidding).

10. Re: End action will not execute because of end action on the final chapter point
Bill Hunt Feb 16, 2010 1:32 PM (in response to computerskillme)If I make a change in the timeline in Premiere, will that new change be reflected in the timeline of Encore?
If you used Adobe Dynamic Link, then yes, the Timeline will be updated. If you did not, then you will need to Export again, then Import into Encore. Watch out if you have already Transcoded, etc., and I'd name the new Timeline Export differently, Import that, use Replace Asset. When a Project is very new, and nothing much has been done, it will not be so picky. After a couple of links, etc., it gets VERY picky, and Replace Asset will help.
Is there a way to reload the project without having to redo all the menus and links?
If you did a Save_As, or still have your original Project, i.e. you started a completely new Project with a unique name, you can go back to the original.
Hope that helps,
Hunt

That's true right up to the point when either the asset is transcoded or the project is built. Thereafter you must "Revert to Original" to get future Pr timeline updates to appear in Encore.

13. Re: End action will not execute because of end action on the final chapter point
computerskillme Feb 17, 2010 2:41 PM (in response to computerskillme)If anyone else has this problem, the main time line needs an end action. Although I wrote stop, the best thing would be to mark the end action as "return to last menu" if you want the video to return to the menu after the video is done.

timtro Jun 28, 2010 5:28 PM (in response to computerskillme)When I select "Stop" I get the error message. When I select "return to last menu" the
entire flowchart vanishes. When I select "default" the entire flowchart vanishes.
After I try a few other options, Encore crashes.

This is bad. Very bad. A complete uninstall and reinstall is recommended. Make sure to run the CS5 clean script after uninstalling.
