After suffering from exposure to FrontPage and Expressions Web for a decade, I decided to download a trial version of Dreamweaver. I have one major problem:
On the order of once a minute, the program stops responding to keyboard input for about 5 seconds. Then I get the rotating circle "wait" signal for about 5 seconds. Finally, the program returns to normal and I can resume working.
Unfortunately, this interrupts my flow of work and makes the program essentially unuseable.
The presence or absence of other operating programs does not seem to affect this problem.
I am running Windows 7 home premium, 3 GB RAM, Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU 2.4 GHz.
I just switched to CS4 also. I get the spinning icon CS4 on start up for about 30 seconds and then I never see it again. It sounds like your computer can handle the software. The only thing I can think up is did you install the trial version from the official Adobe website? And also there may be additional components to be installed. Here is a link to an Adobe article that may be of use: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406178.html
Thanks a lot. This should do it.
My trial copy did come from the Adobe web site.
Now if I can just carve out the time to try all the options you have suggested.
I agree with Tennis I also did same.
