I'm unable to access a new and fully patched Mac OS X 10.6 server with Contribute CS3 or Dreamweaver CS3 via SFTP. I AM able to connect successfully via Terminal and Fugu with the same username and password. This is behavior is reproducible on all clients running Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6. The server is behind a firewall, but ports 22 (SSH) and 80 (HTTP) are both open; they're both accessible via other programs as well. As suggested elsewhere, I've tried appending the port number :22 to the end of the URL, but with no success.
I can't find logs for either Contribute or Dreamweaver, but when using Contribute, I get the following dialog box message:
Contribute could not connect because the server is down or not accepting connections.
Please contact your administrator.
A similar message occurs in Dreamweaver.
Dreamweaver CS4 does work, but it's not practical to force all of our clients to upgrade.
