    Explorer positioning problem

    sjguk267

      Hello everyone,

      I realise there are other threads on this topic and I have checked a few out but they haven't helped so here goes.

      This was my first site using Dreamweaver and basically my site has a ccs style which controls positioning of the page in browser:

      @charset "utf-8";
      * {
          margin: 0px;
          padding: 0px;
      }
      #wrapper {
          background-color: #FFFFFF;
          width: 800px;
          margin-right: auto;
          margin-left: auto;
          border-right-width: 1px;
          border-left-width: 1px;
          border-right-style: solid;
          border-left-style: solid;
          border-right-color: #C7B7E1;
          border-left-color: #C7B7E1;
          clip: rect(auto,auto,auto,auto);
      }

      Then rules to control divs within:

      #wrapper #bodyArea {
          background-color: #FFFFFF;

      }

      #wrapper #bodyArea #navigation {
          width: 150px;
          float: left;
          background-color: #FFFFFF;
          font-family: "Times New Roman", Times, serif;
          font-size: 18px;
          font-style: normal;
          font-weight: normal;
          color: #000000;
          height: 500px;
      }
      #wrapper #bodyArea #flashMovie {
          width: 650px;
          float: right;
          background-color: #FFFFFF;
          font-family: "Times New Roman", Times, serif;
          font-size: 14px;
          font-style: normal;
          color: #000000;
          height: 500px;
      }

      This works fine in firefox but only works on the index page of my site in IE, all the other pages re-position the main wrapper to the left and move the flash movie area down below the navigation area even though the pixel widths are correct at 150+650 =800 wide.

      As they use the same css style sheet I cannot figure out why the pages should change especially as the index page looks ok and is therefore using the css rules correctly.

      Thanks in advance.
