I'm new to AE, check out something I'm working on:
It's between 2 and 4 seconds, the square "marching ants", as you can see they're not exactly marching ;), but I want them to. Seems so simple, but not sure how I would go about it.
Maybe mask the layer / keyframe the position for each of the 4 sides? Or is there an expression that could achieve this, I want to do it the right way..
a) Text layers with infinitely offsetting dashes, tied to a rectangular mask.
b) Shape layer with dashed stroke and similarly animated offset.
c) Venetian Blinds + Motion Tile + infinite offset, cut out by a stroke on a second matte layer (the Photoshop way)
Thanks. I used option A (I had it setup through a dashed text layer already). Since I'm a newb, I couldn't figure out how to keep the mask stationary and move the object behind, but with some research I discovered the pan behind tool.
