            Hi,

                 If you are using flash player with version 10.x then it is possible.

            var fileRef:FileReference = new FileReference();
            var data:String = "xml as string";
            fileRef.save(data,"test");

            I hope this will help you.

            Note: this will open save popup.

            Thanks,

            Vikram

                HI,

                     I am not getting what you are doing.

                     If you are working with Flex for web application then it must require any back-end server(apache for php, tomcat for jsp, IIS) to serve your web      application over net.

                     for your post i.e. writting XML you don't require any backend server.

                Thanks,

                Vikram

                  Vikram:

                  I guess your message is related to my post in the code gallery.  In the .mxml file, there exisits some piece of code like configxml (extra to be cleaned sometime when I am available).  It means it should get some variable values from its corresponding .xml (same name).  But in my .mxml, there is no need to get these variables.  Thanks.

                  Yours,
