Yes, they should be the same. But I don't see what you're describing in the ExamplePlayer sample app from Sprint 9:
When I select "Progressive Video" and click Play, the "Player State" field shows as "playing".
When I select "Progressive Audio", I get the same.
When I select "Streaming Audio", I get the same.
Can you provide more details or sample code?
My code uses the MediaContainer, the ExamplePlayer use the MediaPlayerSprite.
I wasn't having any problems when I had my code running with a regular Sprite and the MediaPlayer.
I took your advice about converting over all my code to the MediaContainer, that's when all my troubles started.
BTW, I have never done any code using the MediaPlayerSprite.
Both this issue and the other item I posted to the forum, "LayoutUtils.setAbsoluteLayout confusion"
starting happening when I converted. I really believe MediaContainer is the culprit.
You guys should convert the ExamplePlayer over to MediaContainer,
especially if you are going to promote the MediaContainer as the go to method.
Yes, that conversion (from MediaPlayerSprite to MediaContainer) is likely to happen this week. It'd be good to circle back on your bug once we've made that refactoring.
