I have downloaded the trial for Adobe Premiere and have had problems trying to import .MPG movie clips into the project. I have searched the web for an answer to whether the final version supports .MPG out of the box, but I can't find a definitive answer.
I hope someone out there can assist as I need to clarify this before purchasing the full version.
The files are taken from a Sony Camera, they have worked fine on every other video editing suite I've used so far.
Yes; you can use MPG movies in the full version of Pr.
Thanks. Just to confirm, I don't have to download any additional content such as codecs? I have seen this mentioned online. I'm new to this so apologies for being a bit thick.
Never download codec packs with the exception of HuffYuv and Lagarith, because everything needed to edit is included in PR. If you have material that is not accepted in PR, it was never intended to be edited, but only watched. In that case conversion to an editable format is the way to go and you have to accept the quality hit you will suffer.
