You can add the event listener in the main application that will react when it hears the bubbled event.
In the main app:
Or if you have an id for the component you can always attach it to that...
I tried that but it doesn't see it.
I will try with the component ID.
Nope, it doesn't "hear" it... I cannot understand why though, it should.
What am I doing wrong?
The same event is listened from another component and works, the only difference is that this other component does not dispatch the event itself, a PopUpManager window that is opened from that component does.
Can you post some code to review?
Below SystemManager popups are in their own display list, so add the event listener at the systemManager level (you must make the event bubble, an additional arg in addEventListener(),

This is how you make an event bubble...
dispatchEvent(new Event("myEventName", true));
the second argument makes it bubble throughout the application.
My Event bubbles. I'll see if Greg's thingy works.
