Is it possible to use scrollRect without the flash.geom.Rectangle class?
I know the scrollRect can be used like this:
myMC.scrollRect = new Rectangle(10,10,100,100);
I need to make a flash which doesn't extends outside the stage (bacause loading it from another flash will expose anything outside the stage area). Using a mask is an option, but scrollRect seems very interesting because it would be easier and give greater performance.
But I can not import the flash.geom.Rectangle class (and it seems overkill to import a class just to set x,y,width and height)
How can use scrollRect without the flash.geom.Rectangle class?
the scrollRect property is a rectangle class member so, you can't use scrollRect without the rectangle class.
But isn't scrollRect way older than the Rectangle class? (some sources say it's new in flash 8, others say it exists sinse actionsctipt 1.0, adobe even states both http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AS2LCR/Flash_10.0/help.html?content=00001352.html ) I've read somewhere that the scrollRect was changed to be Rectangle, but it doesn't say what is was before.
no, it's not older than the rectangle class. it's been supported since fp 8 in as1 and as2.
