I have a Flex app that plays some background music and I have it stop anytime an FLV is played on the screen. Then I start the music again after.
Is there anyway that I can detect whether or not the FLV (loaded with VideoDisplay) has sound? I'd like to keep the background music playing if there isn't sound in the videos.
Most flv files have metadata. You can access this by myVideoDisplay.metadata. If you're lucky, this property is not null and you can see some audio attributes in it, like the codec. If this attribute is not there, then there's no sound in the flv. I can't get closer than that.
Hope this helps
