captivate not able to to "checking input level

I am not able to record anything in captivate because captivate not recognizing mic or any sound

"Checking input level" coming in red color i have tested with two different headphone

plz help

We need more information here. What version of Captivate are you running? Is it 1, 2 or 3? What is your operating system? XP or Vista?

Hi sir

i m using captivate 2 and OS is window Xp professional SP2 .
in window voice recording working fine but captivate it's not .
