Just replace the bitmap images residing in each of the movieclips.
Just replace the bitmap images residing in each of the movieclips. Double click the movieclip then delete and replace the bitmap inside it.
Surely there must be a way to click on my existing image in the library and update it to a new image????
then that should keep all the x and y coords and size of the image and tweening in place.
You can't have one bitmap assume the identity of another. You need to import the new images and place them into the symbols carrying the old images in place of them. This should not involve any changing of timeline elements/tweens/placements. Just the movieclip/graphic symbols in the library that contain the images.
Sorry what I've done is lets say I created a fla called test with images called img1 -img10
then what i did was save the fla as test2 and renamed the images in the library to clip1 -clip10
right clicked on clip 1 in my library, imported and updated the new image
that has worked.
Think this works a lot faster than going into each movie clip and changing the actual image, cause how ive set my fla up is a new movie on a different layer,
so 10 layers in other words
I'm pretty sure what you did is what you were being told... if it only involved changing a single symbol for each image, that's what you were told.
