    Dreamwevver CS3 QuickTime controller

    Phil.com Level 1

      I'm tyring to embed a QuickTime movie in a site.  I followed all the instructions, Common and Plugin.  I get the movie on the site and autoplay with either ture or false works but Controller does not.  There is plenty of room for the controller but it does not appear. There seems to be some kind of control buried in a black bar at the bottom.

      Here is the code:  <embed src="The_Piping_Circle_Santa_Cruz_R2.mov" width="350" height="400" hspace="10" vspace="10" loop="false" pluginspage="http://www.apple.com/quicktime. " border="2" autoplay="false" controller="true"></embed>

      I have to assume it is a simple oversight but I have been working on it almoost all day and I can't fix it.

      Help is appreciated.

      Cheers!  Phil

          Well this has been an interesting adventure. I had one place which said it was a bug in Quicktime and another said it ws a problem with wide monitors. Lots of interesting information our there.

          But, one suggestion I found was to put the emed tag inside a set of object tags.  That helped greatly but not completly.

          <object classid="clsid:02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B" codebase="http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab" height="275" width="250">

          <param name="src" value="http://www.yourdomain/your-video.mov">
          <param name="autoplay" value="true">
          <param name="type" value="video/quicktime" height="275" width="250">

          <embed src="Snata_Cruz_Catherine.wmv" width="275" height="250" controller="true" autostart="false"></embed>

          </object>

          This works in Firefox and Oper a but not in IE and Safari.  The latter two give me the Quicktime Q logo with a ? on it.  What fix do I need to get the Quicktime to run in IE and Safari?

          I have links to the Quicktime also on the page.
