I'm trying to creaet a permision based website and I'm trying to wrap my head around how to do this using Flex. I could be over thinking this but either case I through this out and see what I get.
I googled and Im getting alot of how-to creating alogin script which is fine but it isn't exactly what I'm Looking for.
one of my question is, after a successfull login, how does a user use credentials to access other parts of the applicaion in flex?.
Lets try an example: dating site.
User, with sucessful login quickly gets access to other page or pages. Most dating sites these days use PHP and most likely using "sessions" to control the user authentication throughout the websit.
question i guess is,do I need to create the entire applicaion within one applicaion maybe useing state view to control the access) or can i create multiple applicaion and use one authentication to contorl the access to the entire page?
is there a better way of doing this?
any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
There are many ways to architect this into your application, but one thing that could be common to many of these options is having the concept of roles assigned to users.
So you have information about your users in a database, and each user has one or more roles assigned to them.
Depending on the users role(s), you can allow access to various areas of your application based on roles.
So now you need to decide how to architect your application to allow access by role.
Don't use states for this, better to use ViewStack, and if there are many views in your application, many of which the typical user would not need to see, use modules to reduce the size of the initial SWF.
