    Unable to save title

I'm a very inexperienced Dreamweaver novice, just creating my first website using Dreamweaver. I have created and am using a template.

I'm unable to store the title on pages created from the template.

When I put the page title into the title field of one of the web site pages it dissappears as soon as I click elsewhere on the screen.

I thought it might be linked to using a template and therefore selected the title tags in code view and selected them as editable regions (although I expected all pages created using templates to be able to have unique titles) . This didn't help.

      Any help would be appreciated.

      Thanks

Try this. Use FILE | New > Basic HTML, to create a new page.

Then use FILE | Save As Template...., to save this page as a template page.

Now, look at the code. See the two editable regions in the head (one around
the title tag, and another further down in the <head></head> region)? Make
your template page have those same two regions in the same locations, and
          save it again.

          Now you'll be set.

Your symptoms are the mark of an improperly saved template. Always use the
FILE | Save As Template method to save them.

I've done everything you've suggested and it's now working.

            Thanks very much indeed.
