1. Re: how to blur two objects in one scene in CS4
Bill Hunt Mar 3, 2010 10:39 AM (in response to computerskillme)What has been changed, from the time that it worked and now? Did you resize the Track Matte, or the Video that links to it?
Curt's method has always worked fine for me, and I've never seen it "disappear." Something has to have been changed.
Good luck,
Hunt

2. Re: how to blur two objects in one scene in CS4
computerskillme Mar 3, 2010 10:54 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)I have set everything up, and then I began to edit the 6 track project. So some parts were cut out and deleted. But I don't see how that could have effected anything.
One thing that I find really annoying is that my some of audio track just suddenly disappears. Well, the audio track doesn't disappear, but the audio is gone.
Anyway, I tried re-doing the matte but now it's just slighly blurry, and if I try changing the blur any number above or below 181, the video looks complete normal. Nothing blurred. But I need it blurred, very blurry.

4. Re: how to blur two objects in one scene in CS4
computerskillme Mar 3, 2010 6:46 PM (in response to Ann Bens)I did the same thing you did, but I cannot get the two mirrors to be blurry. Only the middle of the screen is
blurry, unless I click on "repeat edges." Then the whole thing is blurry.
Clicking the "reverse" makes everything clear.
I have made sure that the track matte key is listed last.
I have no idea why I cannot make those two mirrors to be blurry.
1st video track has no effects. 2nd has fast blur at 55, clicked on repeate edges. It doesn't matter if I click on reverse or repeat edges at the same time or none or whatever. I'm not getting the desired result.

9. Re: how to blur two objects in one scene in CS4
Curt Wrigley Mar 4, 2010 10:22 AM (in response to computerskillme)Your matte works fine for me. I just replaced your footage with my own and both my corners were blured where you have the matte.
Perhaps somehow you have a corrupt cache. Try opening a new project and importing this project into it. I see nothing worng with your matte.

Ann Bens Mar 4, 2010 10:23 AM (in response to computerskillme)Tested your project and the matte works perfectly.
You might want to reinstall Premiere.
Curt just beat me to it.

11. Re: how to blur two objects in one scene in CS4
computerskillme Mar 4, 2010 11:42 AM (in response to Ann Bens)When you say to import the project into a new project, is that just copying everything and pasting it into a new project?
As for reinstalling PP, I don't believe that I ever received the disc. I believe it was all download (although since I paid a ton, the disc should be free!).
Will Adobe charge me to redownload?

12. Re: how to blur two objects in one scene in CS4
Bill Hunt Mar 4, 2010 2:13 PM (in response to computerskillme)No. First create a New Project with the proper Preset. Then, File>Import and navigate to your PRPROJ and choose that. Once Imported, go to Project Panel and open the Bins for your Imported Project. Dbl-click on its Timeline/Sequence to open it. Check your Track Matte.
Good luck,
Hunt

If so, make a hard copy instantly.

This doesn't fix the problem with the matte not working.
I have even copied and pasted the project into a new project, and the matte still doesn't show properly.
I would LOVE to call Adobe and complain, but twice I've called their number for help; I spend 2 hours on the phone and get nowhere.
I am going to try deleting APP CS4 and try re-intalling. If this doesn't work, Adobe better refund my money. I'm tired of using crappy software that doesn't work properly.

15. Re: how to blur two objects in one scene in CS4
Bill Hunt Mar 5, 2010 7:31 AM (in response to computerskillme)Well, you could call Adobe, but as two other users got your PRPROJ to work perfectly for them, it seems that the issue is on your end. Something is just not working on your computer, with your Assets. It would likely be the same thing for Adobe.
Good luck, but I do not know where to tell you to look for the problem. I was hoping that by Importing your original PRPROJ into a new Project, things would sort out, but they obviously did not.

computerskillme Mar 5, 2010 8:38 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)I don't ever want to call those idiots again. I have tried twice - and they were never able to help. They need people whose first language is English and who know the software extensively.
I just reinstalled the software, and the matte still doesn't work.
The content disc refuses to load.
I wonder if I got bad software.
