1. Re: Widescreen DVD
Bill Hunt Mar 4, 2010 8:57 PM (in response to Howard Hoffman)Encore is not an NLE. I would do the down-rezing before Importing into Encore. This ARTICLE will give you some tips, via Jeff Bellune. Export as Widescreen, and then Import those files into En.
Good luck,
Hunt

You will want to set the PAR for that footage in AE to 1.212 for NTSC.
Good luck,

Howard Hoffman Mar 5, 2010 11:29 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)Isn't it something happens automatically when m2v (produced by AME) is imported? If not, where can I set PAR?

5. Re: Widescreen DVD
Bill Hunt Mar 5, 2010 11:33 AM (in response to Howard Hoffman)In AE, choose the PAR in your Export settings. Do not try to make Encore force things. Just feed it the proper Asset to begin with, and you'll be better off.
Good luck,
Hunt

Bill Hunt Mar 5, 2010 11:39 AM (in response to Howard Hoffman)Howard,
I am sorry. I just realized that you clearly stated an HD format. My poor mind was focused on SD. You will probably have PAR = 1.0 (Square Pixels). Sorry about that - brain cramp on my part.
Good luck,
Hunt

It was supposed to be AME, but I must have missed the M key. Guess that my brain is not the only thing freezing up.
Good luck,
Hunt
